When was Jesus Christ actually born?

Everyone knows that Jesus Christ was born on December 25th, right? After all, that is when the Christmas holiday is celebrated. But most of our Christmas traditions actually come from pagan traditions that pre-date the birth of Christ. Including the winter holiday celebrated around December 25th.
